Looking for a turnkey audio upgrade
I know this topic has been beaten to death, but - I'm looking for a turnkey, complete package audio upgrade for my 2007 Street Glide. My goals are pretty straight forward:
-At or under (or around) $1000 installed.
-provides clear (not necessarily super loud) audio at highway speed for drive and passenger
-Bluetooth support so that I can play and control audio from my iPhone without wires
-retain full function of the handlebar controls.
-if I have to install it myself, I want it to be fairly plug and play
I'm pretty handy, but my preference is to take this to get this professionally installed by somebody who knows what they are doing. I'm in Akron Ohio, so my first question is does anybody know of a person in North Eastern Ohio that can do this, failing that - what is the best source to pickup a complete package that will satisfy my requirements?

Biketronics makes good plug and play kits, put one in my bike and love it, my stereo face opens and I keep my mp3 player in it, no cd's to mess with and can play hundreds of songs, plus can still use my handlebar controls, and sounds much better then the stock system, complete system I bought was about $550, more or less depending on options you want.

Another vote for Biketronics! Their 7.1 titan speakers (made by HAT) are great and they can set ya up with a Sony bluetooth head unit, mounting bracket and plug and play hand control module along with an amp. Good guys with lifetime warranty on there stuff. Ya can save some dollars going to a rockford-fosgate amp and lesser hand control units and/or speakers. There are install stickys in the audio section along with tons of info.

I think the old mantre of "cheap/easy/loud pick two" goes well here. The best thing to do is to find a good indie first. From there, start looking around for a good way to bolt on some extra power to your system. If you have just the primary speakers up front, you will want a 2channel amp with an RMS of at least 50 out per channel. If you have the lowers or something like the hogtunes lids for the bags, you'll want to look into a 4channel... same specs. You may find just the amp is going to be almost half the price of your $1000 limit. If you do amp, make sure you upgrade your speakers though.
