Default Speaker Switch, Radio or Wiring?

Has this happened to anyone? Riding along with the speaker switch all the way down and tunes playing then all of a sudden hear a pop and the radio goes silent. Put the switch in the middle position and the radio plays fine. Then after a while the same thing happens again, so I put the switch back in the down position and the radio plays fine.

This happened to me all day yesterday on a near 200 mile run. Talk about aggrivating.

I am wondering if it is the switch, radio or wiring. I just had the HD dealer take the fairing off to install a progressive mono tube kit.

Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks

Yep happened to me on a road trip. I thought it was the switch spent the $70.00 to buy the switch, turned out to be the head unit. If you have warranty take it to the dealerit's covered, if not there is a sponsor on here that repairs them.Iron something.

I just bought a new extended warranty on the bike I wonder if the radio is covered.

I am having same problem on my 08 ultra. I have already replaced radio once under warranty for this. Now year and half later it is happening again. I am dropping mine off this coming sunday the 18th. I know what you mean about being annoying. Yes Harley warrantied the radio so just your $50 and your fixed.

Default Iron Cross

It's your head unit. I chased the switch and my amp...speaker wiring etc. You can do a search of the forum....lots of information there. Because of vibration there is a "board" in the head unit that creates the issue. If not under warranty, Iron Cross will repair and improve. Sent mine in to them....isn't cheap, but I have never had another issue...and their customer service is outstanding.
