Default 2014 Street Glide ECM rendered recoverable

Took my 2014 Street glide to have it dyno tuned yesterday using the SE Pro Tuner. After they started the download of the files to my bike it wouldn't start. Had to have the bike taken to the dealer ship. They did a search for any bulletins on my bike and they found one. Apparently if the SE software isn't up to date then it renders the ECM un-usable. On the plus side its covered under warranty because I was using an SE tuner. On the down side, the tuner has to be sent back to Harley to be wiped clean and the ECM with it. Wont have my bike for 3-4 weeks. The service bulletin # is M-1360.

Wow, that's a bummer. You'd think they would expedite this. Two days to get there, one day to reprogram and two days to get back.

You would think so. I have friends at multiple dealers and they al say the same thing. They said there is a slight chance they will just put a new ecm and I can take the bike but then I gotta wait for the tuner to come back. Love the new ride so needless to say im bummed.

the thundermax is a replacement ecm- and it can be tuned/programmed to keep up with whatever engine mods come in the future.
you could go that route and be riding this afternoon ( well, after the installation of new o2 sensor bungs in the headers)

http://www.thunder-max.com/Products/...ms309-562.aspx

the idea of a dedicated "download" or firmware update from HD is a good one- until it doesn;t work....you bike is "bricked' by their choice of device and programming.

Seriously? Why would anyone go backwards to Thundermax old tech that is actually more apt to fail and really leave ya stranded???

Holy s*#' I just purchased a SE Pro Tuner to tune my bike with a tune sent to me by the business I purchased my tru duals from. I will be pissed if it wipes the ecm. I did download the software directly from HD so it had better be current.

I too would like to hear how that is tech....

It seams to me a whole lot better than trying to fool the computer into thinking what is happening with the O2 sensors... The thundermax actually reads what is really happening real time.

Just make sure u are using up to date software before u use the tuner. You can contact Harley for a copy of the service bulleting. I will find out this morning how Harley is going to remedy my situation.
