Quieter after Power tune Duals?
Anyone else think their exhaust got quieter after switching from a gutted stock pipe to a dual setup? My '13 SG seems that way. In fact, I had wrapped the Bassani baffles in fiberglass expecting it to be louder than the stock head pipe but pulled them out after a day because it sounded like a Honda.
My only guess is that with a stock head pipe most of the exhaust comes out of the right side, making the muffler work harder. Am I just imagining things?

Mine seems that way also. The baffles broke in my old mufflers so I bought RC Components 4 inch Rival Eclipse. When I changed over to the RC's my bike was set up with the stock head pipe, Kuryakyn Mach 2 air cleaner, screamin eagle 203 cams and a cobra fi200r fuel processor. The exhaust was loud. I had problems with decel popping after changing the mufflers so I went with S&S power tune duals, took off the cobra and put on the Thundermax. I have a 2002 Road King. It runs a hell of a lot better with no popping now but I do think with the power duals it seems like it got a little quieter. Maybe after time it will get louder. Who knows.

I put the S&S powered tuned on this winter,in front of the same V&H ovals that I already had. It does seem a little quieter, but I also notice when I turn my head to the left,I hear more sound coming from the left muffler, than with the stock pipes. So,the exhaust sound is noticeably more even left to right, than it was with the stock crossover junk.
