Using cruise on any vehicle can result in sudden wheel spin when you hit a slippery spot, so I usually avoid it. If I am in an area with really low speed limits I might still use it to avoid getting a ticket. Otherwise I creep into ticket territory before I know it.
Don't think any cruise control is going to start the wheel spinning in the rain. Regardless, nothing inherently wrong with choosing not to use it in the rain.

I've seen several instances in cars where the cruise had caused a vehicle to go into a slide before it cuts off ... Be safe, don't us e the cruise in questionable ( less than optimal ) circumstances
