GPS power
Good Morning,
I'm the soon to be new owner of a Garmin Zumo 450 and wonder where other gps users get their power supply for the gps. I think the Zumo 450 only comes with a hard wire power supply, so the cigarette lighter option is out unless I wire a cigarette lighter on the power cord. Suggestions ?
Thanks,

RE: GPS power
Well, that's exactly what I did. The Zumo does in fact come with a power cord with two bare wires on one end. I got so tired of reading all the different ways people were using to get power to the unit that I took the path of least resistance. It works and if you mount the Zumo on the left handlebar, the distance from the unit to the cigarette lighter plug is not very far. I might at another time go to the battery but for now this works. Let me know if you decide you want to do it this way and I will point you in the direction of the plug I bought. By the way, the Zumo is a great unit.

RE: GPS power
On my Ultra i used the 2 spare wires on the headlight circuit. Seems they are for the International version and are just plugged on the domestic version. Works great, since they are always powered when the bike is on.
The wires are just taped to fairing if i remember correctly.

RE: GPS power
I spliced an SAE 2 pole connector (same plug that comes with the Battery Tender)to the power supply to the cigarette lighter inside the faring, then brought the capped SAE connector out one of the wiring holes. This way, I can plug and unplug the Zumo without putting up with a cigarette lighter end and losing the lighter. I also wired in a fuse holder under the faring.
