New England rides
I live and work in southern New England. I work therefore my "touring" is limited to weekend and day trip rides for the most part. My question to you all is what have been your favorite 1 or 2 day loops and what scenic and/or historic points of interest are among your favorite places to go to. I ride two up with my wife and we mostly ride alone. Just kinda looking to compare notes and maybe come up with some new routes to ride to interesting sites. Thanks for your time.

I would blast off up RT91 to RT2 over to Shelburne Falls at RT112. There is an awesome flowered footbridge over a river in the center of town that is worth seeing. From there I would go north up RT112/100 to RT9 and head east to Hogback Mountain. Then double back on RT9 to RT100 north. About 8 miles up there are 2 awesome motorcycle B&B's on the right side less than a mile apart in West Dover VT. They are the Gray Ghost Inn and the Kitzoff Inn. I can't recommend one over the other coz I have stayed at both and like then equally as well. The Inn keepers are also friends with each other. Both couples are great people. There is some awesome riding right around that area if you don't mind exploring. Also up RT100 there is a tourist trap of sorts called The Vermont Country Store. I like poking around in there. Further up north and east is a town with a great Scottish pub. The town and name escape me but a bud of mine who has already posted here may see this and chime in. I love the southern VT area over to NY as well. Both of the B&B's have maps of area rides for us to use too. I have copied them onto my Garmin software and loaded them into my GPS for future use when I am over that way.
