lowering kit and shocks
Morning guys and gals, still waiting for the weather to break so i can get out and try my new to me 11 S.G. It has a lowering kit in it and im in the process of doing the fluid change in the stock shocks. I would really like to keep the lowering kit in cause i like the way it looks. However i ride two up most of the time and wife and i arent petite people or obese for that matter, pleasantly plump i like to call it. If i leave the lowering kit in whats my chances of it bottoming out? Im hoping that because i did the shocks that it shouldnt bottom out unless i hit a big bump, or should pull the kit out? Thanks in advance for all your info!

I would say pretty good my street glide is stock and i have air set to 20 and i am 240 wife is 145 and we bottom when hitting a good bump since street glide is an inch lower already than other touring bikes i would say good chance will be bottoming dont know what your air is set at but you might want to add some if you can

I changed the oil in my factory rear 08 SG shocks to Bel Ray 15W. I also have 1" lowering blocks. I'm 190#, wife 165#...add 25# of air and my bike never bottoms. When its just me I have about 10# of air...never bottoms. This is my thread on the how too.... https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...y-08-flhx.html
