I have the same bike.....diff color. If you/ previous owner did not upgrade the rear hub to the "iso drive" kit made by harley and others do so. It eliminates the 5th gear "grind" so to speak. There are alot of threads on it. Bump me if you have any questions.

Great bike, congrats!

And you won't miss the "nimbleness of a dyna"... look up motorcycle rodeo on youtube and see what they ride. If the dynas were truly better, you would see them in the competitions and winning....

Good looking ride, you won't regret that decision, and remember, black is the fastest color!

Funny how we start hanging all kinds of creature/trip comfort items on a smaller class bike and then step back to realize "hey, I just created a geezer-glide."

Congrats on the sweet FLHX and welcome to the club! Enjoy many miles of smiles!

Good move!!
I doubt you regret it!!

There are a few who go the other way from a touring bike to a smaller bike, but not too many.

Hahaha Welcome to the club. I did the same thing with my Dyna. Made the mistake of test riding a Street Glide and it was all over.

After a few weeks with the Street Glide I'm really convinced that I made the right decision. I took a ride on my Dyna (I was taking it to my dad's house so he could have some fun with it until I decide what I'm going to do with it) and after getting used to the street glide, it was difficult to ride the Dyna.

I'm in the process of adding a bunch of junk to the street glide including a tour pack and a bunch of other nonsense. I assume the natural order of things is that guys who buy a street glide buy a bunch of stuff to make it like an Ultra, and guys who buy an Ultra buy a bunch of things to make it like a street glide

If you do a lot of 2-up ridin, the tourpak is a must. Be sure + have them key it same as your ignition + bags.
