Default Exhaust/SERT Question...

I am pretty close to installing my new V&H Tru Duals with the V&H Oval Slip On pipes. I've got a SERT and going to have the dealer do the dyno. I don't want to pay them to install my pipes and slip ons. My question is what will happen or how will the bike run if I go ahead and install my full exhaust system and then drive it say 100 miles or so over to the dealership for the dyno tune? I don't want to screw anything up but I really can't see paying them to install pipes and slip ons.

Thanks,
Boogey Man

If you are planning to run your new pipes with baffles I don't think you'll have any trouble making the ride to the dealer. You'll likely be a little on the lean side, so just take it easy until you get tuning done.

the bike will run a bit lean after changing the exhaust set up. If you have or are doing the high flow air cleaner before it will run way to lean to trust running 100 miles. Lean will make it run hotter. If the stock air cleaner is still on it would not be quit as bad.

Ride Safe,

Mike

Good point. I've got a Ness Big Sucker that will be going on at the same time they do the dyno so it'll be stock till the dealer gets it.

Not to hi jack this thread, but I have an 05 UC, dyno tuned to oval slip ons and a SE air cleaner. I have bought the dresser duals, and planned on install without an additional tune. Will i have ny issues with this?

Reason: I have yet to find a good SERT tuner in Vegas, other than the dealer, who wants $450 for tune. Just doesn't seem right to pay more for the tune than the pipes cost!

It wont matter much with just the exhaust change, but I would not add the air cleaner and pipes and run it a 100 miles.

I'm adding the DTT Twin Scan set up to my bike....

I can't see any reason to spend money on a tuner now that the DTT and Thunder Max systems are proving to work so well.
