Default Rider to Passenger Communication - need info

I'm looking for some info on a good communication system between rider and passenger. Me and my better half where half helmets and I know absolutely nothing about these types of communication devices. Any info or direction would be appreciated.

With full helmets the wife and I use Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth communicators. They're available for half helmets as well. You can stream music from your phone, place and receive phone calls, and communicate with anyone else who has a Bluetooth headset.

Bluetooth is the way to go. Scala and Senna are probably the most popular. Installation is really easy. I use the Blue Ant Interphone. These units can be paired up with your phones if you want to.

I use the U clear system, also a blue tooth system, allows for phone calls and radio and rider passenger communication. I tried the stock Harley headset last weekend and it was okay, just doesn't have the phone capability, I ride a 2013 Limited.

We just purchased the Sena SMH-10 system for the wife and I a couple of weeks ago. Easy to install, works great. Pairs with my Iphone and her Android easily. We use them in a pair of Harley 3/4 helmets with the flip up face shields.
I can listen and control my music on my phone or Pandora, take or make calls and get GPS directions. You can control all of it with the headset or if you have an Iphone you can have Siri do it.
Not sure about using with 1/2 helmets. I would be leery of sound quality. They do make a kit for that application but I would do some research to see if users are happy with it.

I wear a full face helmet and just bought the Cardo Scala Rider Q3 system and it works excellently. It is adaptable to half helmets as well. My wife loves having the separate FM receiver...and the ability to talk to me when she wants to. It is pricey, but worth every penny to us.
