Default For those with Harley Hammock and Adjustable Rider's backrest

I've been looking at getting a harley hammock heated seat. I test fit one at the dealer today and the adjustable backrest is pushing on the back of the driver's seat quite a bit. So much I would be afraid it would cause damage. I don't have this issue with my stock seat.

Anyone else have this same problem and if so how have you dealt with it?

I have one with adjustable back rest and its been on for over 5 years now with no issues. What damage do you suspect will happen?

If the issue is the flat bar on the backrest being to far forward and rubbing the front of the backrest slot, as mine was, put the backrest in a vice and change the angle slightly on the flatbar

There is a piece of plastic that came with your backrest. It is peel & stick and goes where it rubs. You will need one of these so that the back rest rubs on this plastic pad instead of the actual seat.

It has not been a problem. I had this combination on my 2013 limited and transferred it to my 2014. The seat will form around the backrest.

I bought the 2014 hammock this past Friday while visiting a local dealership while on my bike. I told them this and they said no problem they would hold my old seat until I came back to pick it up. I have the adjustable backrest so I just took it off to install new seat. I put a quick 100 miles on it that afternoon, 50 without backrest on and 50 with it. I found that the bracket that sits under the seat for the backrest does not allow the back part of the seat to "squish", it hurt my lower back with or with the backrest. I took the bracket off yesterday and put 300 miles on it with no pain, but no adjustable backrest. I miss my backrest but the seat was pretty awesome on comfort and bump/vibration dampening. The wife like it also. The dealer said I had a 30 day return window so I said what the hell. I went in looking for a road zeppelin but was told not yet for the 2014 flhtk.

so I guess the seat pan for the 2014 is different than the 2010-2013 models? that's good to know.

Most of the seats fit 2008 - 2014 with exception that some of the touring seats state will fit 2008 - 2014 RK and SG and 2008 - 2013 Ultra, Limited, FLHTC (tourpak bikes). So, implies if bike has a tourpak, there is problem fitting some seats on the 2014 that fit on earlier.

the P&A, for the heated hammock says "Not for use with Adjustable Rider Backrest kits or Passenger Grab Rails."
