Default New to the HD family ;)

Hey all,

I just purchased a 2012 Electra Glide Ultra Limited and absolutely love it! I upgrade from Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic and one of the things I really liked about the Vulcan was the heel shifter... it actually was just off the back of the foot pad so that it was an easy slide back to drop your heel and run thru the gears.

On the HD the heel shifter sits about 2" over the foot pad, does not extend beyond the back, and that means you need to pick your foot up run thru the gears.

I realize it can be adjusted, but wondering if anyone has solved this with some kind of longer heel shifter lever that could be further back so the foot doesn't feel "trapped" between toe/heel shifter for more comfy shifting...

Appreciate any feedback, thanks!

The first thing I did to my bike when it was new was to install the H-D extended reach heel toe shifters so I had room for my foot. (and get mirrors that allowed me to do more than look at my shoulders) http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...oe-shift-lever

Thanks for the quick response TLWiz! I looked at the link and it still looks like it would sit over the foot pad, does the heel shift happen "lower" or do you still need to pick up your foot to drop down thru the gears?
