Talked to service tech about slip ons and....
told him I was interested in Rinehart slip ons, SERT, and K&N filter. Said he could do all that but suggested I go with Stage I, K&N Filter, and SE slip ons. Said he thought that was the best set up and Less costly and said they sounded great. What do you guys think? I mean the guy is trying to save me some bucks it looks like, because he said they could do the SERT and Dyno (in fact that was what he was getting ready to do to his bike and add V&H true duals) but that if I was going with just slip ons he suggested the SE and Stage I.

That's what I went with (K&N,SE Slipons, Stage1) and my
bike runs great, sounds awesome, but as I'm sure you will
hear from everybody, it depends what you want.
Try to find someone who did go with what you were suggesting
and see if he/she feels it justified the cost.
Whatever way you go, it'll be your bike and will be and sound great!

I did the SE slip ons, SERT and air cleaner on my '07 Ultra. It sounds good, but not alot of that deep rumble, or at least not what I expected. It really sounds best in the 2000-3000 RPM range, really sounds like it has a pair. Other than that they are kind of timid IMHO. Friend of mine has Rinehart true duals on his '05, and those sound incredible at any speed, but they are definitely going to wake up the neighbors (which is why I didn't get them or the RInehart slipons).

Sound is very subjective. What I may like, you may hate. Now you've spent $500 or more on a system that you can't stand the sound of. I've heard this many times over the years on this board.
Best thing to do is try to find other riders that have pipes and have a listen in person.
"I just purchased an exhaust from recommendations from this board and they sound horrible. What do I do now?"

Go for the pipes that give you that funny feeling, you know like when you used to climb the ropes in gym class?
