ABS was the subject of the advisory board a few months back. Questions about would I like them and how much was I willing to pay, so maybe they are getting close to offering it.

I agree with fimduc in that they need to get something more advanced than the half-a-saddlebag rig they are using on the cop bikes. BMW is the leader in this technoligy but several Japanese bikes also have advanced ABS, seems like they would buy something that already works rather than spending a lot of money and effort developing their own system from scratch.

 

thanks for info. one time for no reason I skided and ended up actually doing a 180 degree turn and then just kept going the way I came. Never knew what happened? Maybe these abs brakes would have helped.

 

Rucker Performance modifys cop into custom bikes because they have the ABS setup - and they like it...

 

BMW is an industry leader in ABS technology, no if ands or buts about that, but Yahaha and Honda both have bikes with it The FJR Yamaha comes to mind right off the bat.
Damn the FJ1200 had ABS on it as an option 15 years ago.

Now I happen t0 like the brakes on my bagger, and yes I have locked the back end up for split seconds. If HD was asking for My opinion on brakes it would be floating rotors, and 4 0r 6 pot Brembos, or Nisans, and then maybe ABS. Braided lines also would be nice if they were functional.

And one last thing guys.. If you are not changing your brake fluid every 2 years, you are making a huge mistake.

 

Yep, to me Brake and Brake systems are more important than ultra power and more HP. I'm very impressed with the 360 brakes as they report to be a brake system with very little fade and the ability to modualte very well. Still ABS can make your 80 year old grandmother brake like Mario Andretti....all you got do is stomp on it and steer. Come on HD give us a reason to spend more money on options.....ABS availability ona HD crusiser should be easy...it is 2007 and everyone offers ABS!

Lol- I am not actually ticked- just find it funny, and a little bit of a bummer.

 

I am a motor officer and were riding an 07 Road King with abs. We do extensive training with the bikes (lots of braking exercises) and the abs is worth its weight in gold. I would really consider keeping them on if the only reason is the saddle bag room. I also cant understand why HD doesnt have them on all there bikes. I wish that my personal roadking had them or the option of adding them.The abs will save you when you really need it.....think about it......KEEP THEM!!!!!!!!

 

If I had one wish for a modification from the MOCO on my SG it would be ABS.
I'm pretty sure if I had ABS I would not have shattered my pelvis last year!
Just my 2 cents; I think your friend would be eliminating one of the best features on his bike.
