Looking for something that's adjustable for up to 400lbs (2up)

I think just about anything would be better than the air shocks that come stock on them... But I'm going with the progressive 944s for my SG. Legends make some new coil over shocks for the Harleys are supposed to be decent also.

Just a side note though if you going to progressive 944s you're going to get all the travel of the stock bike but With a 1 inch lower ride height in the rear for your EG.

+1 on the Ohlins. Absolute BEST dollars I ever spent on my bike.

There are so many options out there, shock threads are almost like "oil threads".
Everyone is going to give you an "opinion" of what is best for them, or what they like best.
There is absolutely no doubt there are better options out there.
The hard part is going to decide which one of those options to go with.

I am using the HD Premium Hand Adjustable, and completely happy with them.

Progressive is another that gets very good reviews.

Ohlins are the most recommended and probably the best out there.
But also one of the most expensive.

Keep in mind, that what one rider deems comfortable or very good ride, the next ride might think it rides like crap.

Do some searching around here and you will find more shock threads than you can read in a month.
How much is your comfort worth to you?

As already mentioned, shocks come up in here very often! However something frequently omitted is whether members have a passenger, as you and I do. What I came to realise is that when solo the shocks do not matter anything like as much as when 2-up, as the passenger gets a very different riding experience, perched over the rear wheel.

So I suggest you have an easy task, finding the answer to your question! Ignore all posts unless they mention a regular passenger! In our case I also have Ohlins, from HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal. These days Howard there also sells JRI shocks, so you have two choices. In any event he will guide you through your options and build you shocks with springs matched to you and your combined weight. Give Howard a call, he may also give you HDF discount.

I have about 1000 miles on the MoCo's own CVO, and love them more every time I get on it.
I notice the smoothness in the rear very time out, so now need to do something with the chinsey front end, which is where all of the road anomalies show up.
