Kurykyn Curved Lic Plate Warning
As previouslly reported( https://www.hdforums.com/m_1399584/tm.htm) I too have the same failure.
I installed it in Jan 2007. I noticed the assembly seemed loose recently and check it today. I found that on corner of the Back Plate was broken. The bike has just 2000 miles since the assembly was installed.I have contacted Kuryakyn and hopethey willchoose to provide a replacement.I'll post the results.

I just bought one Yesterday...
Kury now includes a couple little strips pf rubber with adhesive on one side.Is this a fix to their Design Flaw?
No mention of where to install these strips in the instructions.
I guess i'll call the help line.

Anyway, be sure to install the foam strips at the top, not the bottom. Too bad that Kury doesn't bother to mention this in their instructions.

On my first plate (the one that broke) I had installed the rubber strips at the bottom of the plate. Unfortunately they did no good there because they were not contacting the fender to prevent vibration. On my replacement plate I installed them at the top of the plate. They now contact the fender and vibration is noticeably reduced. Hopefully the plate won't break now. However, the plate is very poor quality - pot metal in fact. It won't take much vibration to break it again. The pot metal composition only becomes obvious after the plate breaks and you see the telltale gray color at the fracture. Cheap stuff.
Anyway, be sure to install the foam strips at the top, not the bottom. Too bad that Kury doesn't bother to mention this in their instructions.
