The new frame looks to be thicker toward the mount and feels lighter overall. Like I said earlier, I should've weighed and measured the thickness of the metal before returning the old one. Anyone have an older model on hand who could do this? The metal on this new one is 2.5mm (0.9") thick at the mount and the backing plate alone weighs 9.25 oz. The outer cover for the license is very light, weighing in a tad over 4 oz. The backing plate feels like steel while the cover aluminum, both chrome-plated, of course.
