Gas Mileage on my FLHPE 103"
I was just wondering if after doing the stage one upgrade (Vance & Hines True duals, Fuelpak, & naked air cleaner) is my fuel mileage supposed to drop? I notice that my Reserve miles says 284 when I fill up but I barely can get 200 miles out of a full tank. Is this normal? Thanks.

How many tanks of fuel have you run through it? Calculate your mpg per tank full for a month and see if there's a pattern. Is your riding style the same, or are you giving it more throttle now ? My gas mileage varies wildly depending how I ride, if I take it easy and shift by 3000rpm in each gear, I can get 42+, if I haul *** , I get around 35. There's alot of factors involved, but a stage 1 shouldn't have a major effect by itself unless something isnt set right.
Your fuel pak could potentially need tweaking to lower fuel consumption. Give v&h a call, their techs are really good about making adjustments to help issues like this.

ignore the R function, it is R for "reference"...not R for Range.
the darn thing isn't smart enough. it should be considering the computer calculates fuel delivery.
the MPG will drop depending on the settings that you use.
but MPG is not just a result of how much gas gets pushed into the motor with each stroke- it is also a result of ignition timing. Both of which you are affecting with your tuner
and the variables, speed, wind resistance, load, topography etc etc. which you have less control over
My bike ( 2009 FLHTC 96") got 44 MPG stock.
after my stage 1, I get 43 MPG...cruising 70-ish.
i used different stuff than you for my stage 1
my riding pal used other stuff on his 2011 FLHTK 103" he gets identical MPG to me, measured over thousands of miles

My friend has a "103" and I have a "110".
Both have been tuned and have had the cats removed and have free flowing mufflers and true duals.
Both of us are 200+ lbs and with a full load of luggage, both of us get 40 +/-running 70 to 75 MPH.
This is about the same MPG's that I used to get with my 2000 Ultra after installing the "95" kit and a Stage II tune.
At 200 miles, or when my fuel light comes on, we start looking for a gas station.
Playing with the throttle will reduce your mileage so I use my cruise control as much as possible

I live on a mountain so there are no red lights and very few stop signs on the 2 main roads up here. As soon as I get to speed I use my cruise control. I get a extra couple of mpg that way. My 110 cvo light comes on around 210-240 miles depending on the type of riding I doing.
I rarely check my mpg anymore. When I get to 1 bar left on the gauge I gas up.
75 and above my mpg take a beating.

so you know, the gas in the tank cools the pump motor.
make a habit of keeping the gas level up over 1/4 tank ...the better the cooling the longer the service life of the pump.
you can't always ride around on a full-ish tank, like when touring. but you can most of the time.
