Hello, has anyone actually installed 2009 and newer complete exhaust systems on the earlier bikes?
I understand a bracket of some sort has to be made under the bike, how did you do this ?

Was it worth it?

Reason I am asking is my baby brother is sending via the Dad motorhome express his entire system from his 2013 Road Glide, I just wanted the mufflers. My bike is a 2004.

 

I asked this same question when I was thinking of doing this.I think someone said something about a clearance issue with the oil pan.Do a search and you should come up with an answer.

 

I don't think so, there's a difference in the frame. Not to mention a cat in the new pipe

 

Not to be a smart alec, but why would you want to do this? New and Used aftermarket exhaust pipes for the 2008 and older bikes are for sale everywhere. Is there some sort of advantage to using a 2009 and newer exhaust on a 2008 or older bike that I'm not aware of?

 

S&S and Khromewerks make a dual head pipe for pre '09 bikes that looks just like the '09 and newer pipes. The S&S pipe is their Power Tune Dual setup. I have it on my '08 bike and really like the look and performance. To use the factory setup you'll need a new oil pand and drill the transmission to accept the mount.
