These are my thoughts as well - with cat removed and tuned it's even better. The real question is whether the rider going to overheat?

It's not that bad unless you're stuck in traffic. My only gripe is the cat convertor barbecuing my right leg, but I'm installing new pipes soon. I generally don't ride if it's above 110° anymore, it just isn't any fun. I have ridden when it was 118 out and it was miserable.

Default Has Anyone Ridden A New Limited Yet

This is a good thread for me as I am looking to get an Ultra or Limited in 6 months to a year. Had a 2006 Ultra and was supposedly pretty cool compared to others but it was still very hot. I am wondering if anyone who has not bought a new twin cooled bike has been able to ride one in the heat yet. Is the difference subtle, moderate or substantial on the heat issue here in AZ. If not substantial I will likely consider the Ultra. Not had a chance to ride the Limited yet myself. We are hitting the mid 90's this week so it is getting there.

I'm in AZ, and not worried at all. Besides, summer you'll be riding in the mountains, haha.

I would consider removal of lowers if expect a lot of prolonged idle time. This would not apply if you have a 2014 Ultra Limited, using coolant. I don't expect you will be commuting in traffic, so you are fine.

If the engine oil is older than 6 months, I would change it, even if not due by mileage.

HD does use the Chrysler proving grounds in Yucca for extreme testing. Here's a video about it

I couldn't imagine riding in that heat. I don't like to ride in anything above 95 even with my Heritage. I have of course and it is tolerable if you don't have to stop. On my stock limited I can't deal with it.

When you get tired of your sack roasting give me a call and I'll get a larger oil pan coming.

I lived and rode in SE Texas for 25 years, about 4 years ago I moved to the Phoenix area. I can honestly say that I would rather ride in the 110 degree heat in AZ than the 95 degree heat with 97% humidity in TX any day. As for cooling, fans will work well for the bike, the FCS by Fabrik8r is a good one and he is in the area. A fan assisted oil cooler also helps. As for keeping you cool, I guess you could hook up a mister (fine water spray) with an electric pump in one of your saddle bags. It is remarkable how much evaporating water will cool you down.
