Thanks to agri business we all get stuck with ethanol. Try http://pure-gas.org/ for a station in your area. As with all petroleum products it always costs more to put something in or take something out.

...however 10% ethanol will cause about a 4% drop in mpg.
see it doesn;t suck that bad....it's like they bulked up your birthday cake with 10% foam rubber...
OP welcome to the forums, you'll have to start with the basics, check you plugs and wires, look for intake leaks.
measure and record your MPG.
list any mods.
a stockish bike should get better than about 38 MPG cruising at 60 steady.

that's more than just the ethanol change.
there is another cause, perhaps related.
any modifications to your bike ?
was there any change with the new plugs?- it shouldn't really apply to your model, but 07+ bikes sometimes have problems with "performance sparkplugs" the ion sensing in the ECM gets confused and the ignition timing is retarded. stock spec plugs work better.
I wonder if the timing is too advanced for the fuel and you have some misfire
this is EFI, right? the EG Std was still carb in 2005
if it is carb, then you could have bad seals, check for bad diaphragm in the accel pump too
