Out of curiosity, is it possible/feasible to turn off the ABS on a Road King? This is the first bike I've had with it, and I'm not really that enamored with it. I would like to see what it rides and stop likes without it..
ABS- just a note: I was riding 2-up 50 m.p.h. down a country road when several deer ran into the road right in front of us. I hit both front and back brakes hard(reaction). My bike stopped on a dime. Without ABS I would of hit the road/deer hard and took a dirt nap! Just my opinion. Ride safe.

I have one bike with, and one without. I don't ever notice a difference in stopping, but there is that feeling of insurance, I guess, when I ride the one with ABS. FWIW.
Have ABS on my 08 EGC, normal braking I wouldn't know its there, I have been thankful to have it when someone pulled in front of me, hard on both brakes...straight and fast stop.
ABS only activates after the rider has failed in their braking abilities.

And this!
Have ABS on my Street Glide, and never really notice it under normal riding/braking conditions.
I did a "panic stop" once, just to make sure they system worked.
A very quick "controlled" stop without the slightest hint of losing control.
