Default License Plate Mudflap, like the idea?

I have been searching for ways to move the license plate down or to the side and clear up the rear fender. I noticed I could mount it below the fender and it might look good.

I just slipped an old license plate in there behind the trim bracket to get the idea and I think I will try and make it work. Just make a little frame and work out a light.

Should be easy as there is plenty of beefy bracketry to attach to behind the fender. You could easily tap in a wire for the plate light and little LED lights are cheap.
Sounds like a fun project !!

You can get a set of plate bolts with leds for about $15, wire them into a run circuit under the taillight. there will be unused pins which on other models might be used for the fender tip light.

a bunch of us with detachable tourpaks use a FLHR signal bar and plate mount

do a quick DMV check and see if a minimum height is set for your State.

the last thing you probably want is an easy excuse to be pulled over.

As I think on this a little I would suggest to use a flexible mount.
Maybe those thick exhaust hangers for cars could be cut to work. This way if the plate gets backed into or you roll over something there will be a little give.

Just a thought.

I've done the plate mudflap thing on a1998 roadking classic. Thought it looked ok. A tip...attach so the plate swings...not fixed rigid.
