I hate the plate up on fender so I did the same but I used a curved plate frame with the LED light built in. Bike is on lift in pic, when on ground really don't see plate unless you step back, and it keeps fender clean.

I like it This is what I did On my 2014 FLHTK I use the Kuryakyn Lighted/LED Laydown Curved License Plate Frame & flat bar with multiple drilled holes. You can turn the back mount plate over to have it in the lay down position or flip it for the billboard position see pics.Nice clean look.

Well after seeing a few more options...with lights and frame ect...I think I like it. But I have two rear fenders...Which side should I mount or should I get a duplicate plate? Ha Ha I do think I like the lighted version.
Cool Idea and the fender does look better without...look again people it may grow on you.

The plate dosnt look nearly as bad as that floodlight assembly Harley calls tail lights. They look like they belong on the top of an aircraft carrier turning in circles detecting an upcoming invasion.

few thousand miles without washing and it should not be legible. forget the E-Z pass, and just roll thru those pesky cameras at the toll booths.

So funny that I never saw this before and a lot of folks have the same idea or better.
