License Plate Mudflap, like the idea?
#11
So I pulled the license plate bracket and used half of it to attach it to the rear fender trim. I like it better than up top but I may move it to the side and attach a bracket to the rear muffler hanger. You can now see the upper fender paint and dust the fender with out taking off the rack. Home Depot has little zinc hole plugs that I painted black and will use to fill the holes when the paint dries.
I like the idea of the swinging version but this was a quick free mod to change it up a little. Thanks for the led lice plate bolts as I will likely go that route to be legal and will also check the plate height for PA.[IMG][/IMG]

Well I checked the PA regulations and it says minimum 12" so I will check with my cop buddies and see if I should move it. I may move it to the muffler hanger so its sits above the exhaust and below the turn signal. That would be the same height as the lower mounting so that should be fine.
PA rules:
Every registration plate shall be securely fastened to the vehicle:
(1) So as to be clearly visible.
(2) In a horizontal position.
(3) At a height of not less than 12 inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom of the registration plate.
(4) So as to prevent the registration plate from swinging.

That's one way to put it.
Sorry. But I gotta say it's a 'bad different'.
I've seen it done a few times...and even the high-dollar motorized/mechanical units they are putting on the extended-fender/air-ride equipped radical custom bikes still look like an 'afterthought' (kinda cheap).
Just my $0.02.

Funny. I see plenty of mods or paint schemes that I don't like but its not my bike so if it floats your boat, awesome. I asked for feedback and I got mixed and that's cool. There are mostly good ideas on this forum so no sweat. I like that the upper fender is clear but not sure if I will move over to the side or leave it.
I ordered a set of LED license plates bolts to light it up. Its supposed to be 12" off the ground in PA and its 10". Doubt I get grief for that.
