Default Saddle Bag BEWARE

On 25 Mar 2:00 p.m, a friend of mine was at Hooters in Dublin, CAand as he came out of the restaurant he discovered that both thesaddle bags and all of the contents on his '07 Street Glide were gone. The saddle bags were locked, however, we assume it only took a flathead screwdriver to pry apart the end of thebail wire mounting stud. He called a friend at the local stealer and to no surprise there have been a couple people a week ordering new saddle bags. Just wanted to putout a warning to all. BTW, the bags on my FLHRC will no longer be quick detach.

Yes that was me. It was a good day up until that point. We were coming from the Goodguys car show and decided to stop for some wings T**TY gazing. I came out to find both saddlebags gone. Along with them, my jacket, helmet, gloves, and sattelite radio which were "locked' inside. Apparently the dealer knows of how they were stolen while locked. They say one can use a screwdriver or similar object to turn the stud far enough to break it loose from the wire. I guess I will be bolting on the new ones. So all you engineers out there start your heads spinnin'. Luckily my spoilers and new jacket haven't come in yet or they would have been in/on also. So now I guess I am shopping again. Maybe some Ness deep bags?

Hopefully this will save one of you the problem in the future.

Your bike insurance should take care of all of this and the contents as well. (minus deductable). Sorry to hear about this. Isnt the rule never touch another mans motorcycle still in effect today? [:@]

In Dublin of all places!
I know McGuires HD (my dealer) always has warning signs up about watching out for your bags.

Sorry to hear about it. If I see anyone walking around with a couple black bags and no bike, I'll be sure to kick their *** for you.

So, what's the best way to bolt these suckers in place? Never occurred to me that someone could steal the things, although I guess where there's a will there's a way.

I aways wince when someone says "hard bags are better then leather bags because they are lockable"

I gaurantee it wouldn't take me any longer to break into or steal a set of hard bags than it does to unlatch my hard leather bags.

Some asswipe stole my bags in broad daylight in Daytona, I bolted my new bags on with lock nuts from the inside.

Hey if I can help you on some new bags, pm, sell them to you at my cost, cause I been there and sucks BIG TIME!
