Default Anyone change the rear tire on their 2014 yet?

Dealership told me if I "watch my tire pressure diligently", my new tires should go about 17k. Right. . . . I have 9500 on my SGS and the tire tred is 2-3/32". Probably look for a Michelin Commander II.

I have 22,000 miles on my 2010 Utlra rear tire. I might make another 3K or 4K with it as I am nowhere near the wear bars yet. 17,000 was easy.

Wow, that is amazing! I'd be thrilled if I can get that kind of mileage out of my tires. I was only getting around 10-12k miles out of the tires on my Goldwing.

my 14 Limited has 6500 miles and the tires still look new and I do not ride that easy either.

Trying to compare tire mileage with another user is almost impossible.
There are so many variables involved like (bike, roads, riding style, weather, etc).

One person might get 10K and the next 20K out of the same exact tire.

On average, you will get somewhere between 8k - 15k out of a rear tire.
Some will get less, and even fewer will get more than that.

You ride mostely two lane rural twisty asphalt roads, your mileage will be much less than someone who rides mostly interstates.

The best way to compare is to find someone that rides the same roads and style as you, but perhaps a different tire brand.
Then you will get a much better idea of what tire might be better for your riding.

Lots of people are getting 15-17,000 miles on the larger 180 that comes on 2009 and later. Depends a lot on how aggressive you acccelerate, stop, how much weight and keeping your pressure right.
