2010 ultra, last two outings bike is going into motor saver mode right after acceleration trying to get out of a cars blind spot. happened twice after shifting from second to third. if driving conservatively problem does not exist. oil level checks ok. bike serviced regularly.

Do you mean "Limp Mode" as in throttle doesn't work and higher than normal idle speed? Try removing the plug behind the a/c( where a carb would be) and blowing it out, applying some type of electrical contact spray and plugging it back together firmly. Common problem, and it usually doesn't happen again after playing with that connection.....

welcome to the forums.

if the bars have been changed, look for bad wiring to the throttle position sensor.

in which case the idle would not be higher than normal ( as mentioned above).

but check the servo motor plug as above, it is at about 8 o'clock on the throttle body looking from the rt side of the bike.

if you use a contact cleaner spray, make sure it is plastic safe

thanks for the advice. removed connector behind a/c and followed your instructions. test drive earlier this morning went without a hitch. ran great, even idled better at startup, the only thing I noticed was the tab on backside on connector did not catch after reconnecting plug. I was able to remove plug without pushing down tab. that should have been the first time that plug has been removed for any reason. I thank you again. first time on hdforums, really enjoyable.

You may want to think about putting a zip tie around the connector to insure it remains solidly connected ... cheers
