Finally completed the install of Wild 1 Chubby's 14 inch ape hangers. Took about a month due to back order issues and I also had the whole front fairing repainted in black with a European clear coat finish. Other than that it wasn't to bad of a job.

 

I think apes look awesome on baggers. You'll get some mixed comments on this site about them but they awesome and comfortable.

 

look nice, so does the painted fairing. would like to try a set of the 14's one of these days.

 

did you use a one piece clamp or two?

I used the original 2 piece clamp, but that was only after consulting with a couple mechanics and blogs. That being said I am keeping an eye on the play in the bars. With them being 14's there is a lot of leverage/stress on the clamps, so if I see more play than I am comfortable with that is the first thing I will change.
