I picked up a 2014 Bell Custom 500 yesterday and rode 200 miles with it on. It fits me awesome and behind my Road King windshield I have to issues with it lifting. I feel it blocks sound at a perfect level, I'm still awake of surroundings, just the annoying wind noise is removed.
Only problem I had was sliding my sunglasses on with the helmet. This isn't necessarily a problem with the helmet, but it created some nasty pressure points after a few hours. I'm searching for a solution to this as I love the helmet.
If you get lucky you can find a 2013 model right now for about 40prcnt off.
On a related note about I have bought about 75prcnt of my gear at the local Yamaha dealers including this helmet. They are great for gear.

Arai XC. I love this helmet. I've had a lot of other types of 3/4 helmets, but I finally decided to spend some real money and purchase an Arai. I couldn't be happier with it and it's well worth the money because of the fit, quality, protection, not to mention I'm actually saving money because I'm sticking with it rather than going through so many others that weren't just right.

This thing is amazingly comfortable, specially if you have an oval shaped head. For me, I had issues with more round type helmets that would be very tight on my forehead but not as tight on the sides.
The XC is a 3/4 helmet that has more side protection than a normal 3/4 but the field of view feels wide open. I like that more of my jaw is protected but it doesn't feel like a full face.
It's also SNELL rated. Can't go wrong with this helmet if you head fits the shape.

I like my TORC t-50. It fits a little better the the Fulmer v-2 I also have. Both are great helmets. They a nicely priced too.
