Default CB module on '14 Ultra Classic.

I need some input! Recently I installed the CB module on my '14 Ultra Classic and was told by the dealer parts department that this was not a plug and play unit but rather the stereo would need to be reflashed to recognize the CB module. This was no big deal as I figured I would just take it into the dealership after I had it installed and have the reflash performed. Living in Ohio, I have yet to have an opportunity to ride yet this year so yesterday I had the bike in the driveway warming up so that I could service it and I noticed some noise coming in over the stereo. Turns out I was picking up some CB interference. So, long story short, it seems that the head unit did in fact recognize the CB module and I am wondering if anyone else has performed this install or if anyone has any knowledge of this. Would hate to take it into the stealer if there is no need.

Thanks for your help!

I think if it was not plug and play the documentation would have said so, I think but not sure the Aux in is the only thing that has to be flashed.

just like adding sirius, the headunit activates when it sees the input. not the first hd person to be wrong. Mike

Thanks to both of you guys! I will try to get out where I should definitely pick something up to verify for sure before I leave for Thunder Beach, but there is even a CB icon at the bottom of the infotainment display so I would say I'm good to go just like you guys said.

Thanks again!

In case you didn't know. CB transmit will only work with a head set. Hand held CB mic is no longer an option.

Dont know about the 14 but did cb install on 06 roadglide and did not have any flash required.was told at dealer it couldnt be done.Had to by a wire overlay pull fairing and tank.Harest part was running wire overlay from front through opening by neck to under the tank/seat area.very tight but doable
