Default Dam it; Janet; Cam it!

Finishing up stage one on my 07 FLHRC this week. Going to cam it next. I'm looking to fuel Motto for cams. I can't decide between the Wood 222, or 555.

Any thought on these two choices, or other cam options would be appreciated. Ordering my tuner thru FM, so thought I'djust make it a package.

All I can offer is do some research and make sure your cams compliment the rest of the motor.

If you choose a cam better suited for a bigger inch motor or higher compression and head work and stick them in your stock motor you might be happy until someone with a cam matched to their setup hands you your butt.

Do a bit of talking with the experts, I actually spent a little time talking with the folks at Andrews about cam selection and learned some good stuff and helped me make a better choice.

Rely on Fuel Moto to give you sound advice on the cam choice. They have done the R & D. They will tell you and they wont steer you wrong.

I went with the 222 cams and love them. Great low end two up and solo and pull all the through the RPM's I use.

555's give you room to grow. 222's not so much

If you go to the Fuel Moto website you can see the dyno tests, I would point out that the 222 is making 50 horse or better at just 2500 rpm. Compare that to the cams that have a higher rpm biased torque curve and peak horsepower.

I would suggest call bob wood at woods cams he will tell you which ones for what you want to do and to fit your riding style just put in 222 bob suggested them and so far good also like what was said before check out fuel moto and look at dyno test results good luck let us know what you went with

Andrews 48s are my "go to" in 96 stage 1.

Andews 48s are the whip for a 96" bike. 555s are not for a 96, and 222s are what? A cam looking for a home?

Do yourself a favor and try the andrews. They sure hit a home run with that one cam for that one application.

If heads are stock I would go with the TW222 or the Andrews 48. They are both close enough on the specs that only difference you would see is the Andrews are around $100 cheaper. Have seen both in 96 and both did well. The TW555 is little much without compression. If planning compression and head work later the TW555 would be the best choice. The 222's will respond to some compression also. Like some of the others said talk to FM or Woods. Of course they will recommend the Woods stuff. The tune for the TW222 will work pretty close on the Andrews 48 if they don't have one for it.
