I have used craigslist with great success. Give it as try.
Good tips stated above, no rides without cash in hand.
On the bike I have the owner and I were chatting over coffee at his house and were looking the bike over. I saw his mug was a USMC one and asked if he was a Marine, yes he was and so was I. He immediately told me to take the bike for a long ride to check it out and let him know if anything was amiss, there was instant trust because of our brotherhood. I went for a 150 mile test ride per his orders and he dropped the price to 7,700 for the 04 RK with 17k miles. this was 2 yrs ago.
Anyhow I have had good luck on craigslist but be smart and careful too.
