Hey all,

Need opinions on the best media to sell a bike. Craigslist, E-Bay, Auto-Trader etc.
Tell me some of your experiances.

Thx

craigslist, its free advertising and many use it.

you'll probably have to weed through some idiots and lowballers

my 2 cents

I have used Craigslist and sold two Harleys and had good luck. Like previous comment you will have to weed thru the idiots but that comes when selling anything. Also have sold a car as well as several other items on CL. IMHO a good free outlet. Good Luck!

I had no luck with CL, autotrader or others. but Ebay Local Classifieds worked great! and it's free within a 200 mile radius. that's plenty for a normal bike.

Craigslist...You get to meet the person, they should have cash in hand that day, you don't have to monkey with shipping or paypal, and it's free

I have used craigslist with great success. Give it as try.

Good tips stated above, no rides without cash in hand.

On the bike I have the owner and I were chatting over coffee at his house and were looking the bike over. I saw his mug was a USMC one and asked if he was a Marine, yes he was and so was I. He immediately told me to take the bike for a long ride to check it out and let him know if anything was amiss, there was instant trust because of our brotherhood. I went for a 150 mile test ride per his orders and he dropped the price to 7,700 for the 04 RK with 17k miles. this was 2 yrs ago.

Anyhow I have had good luck on craigslist but be smart and careful too.

I've sold 3 on ebay or from my ebay ad. Tried CL (too many wierdos and sales people) and didn't get much response from the trader.
