Speaking of Powder Coating - Opinions Wanted
I picked up RK a month or so ago, the wheels are just ugly. They were not maintained well @ all. I just shelled out $10k for the bike, plus 2 new tires and a sissy bar (400+). I am not trying to buy new wheels. But the old ones are so ugly. So I find this guy on eBay who powder coats wheels sends them to you and u send ur old ones. Requires a deposit blah blah and 100 bucks of shipping plus his ripoff powder coating fee. I remembered a local guy on my old Mustang forum who does this himself. I bring the wheels to him $75.00 a each, he can do the same black color. My real question is this is what they will look like, do you like? I think a little bit of black will offset the white color of the bike and all the chrome. I just wanna make sure its not hideous. Or just wait and save up for new badazz wheels which I will never get back the cost when and if I ever sell the bike.

The only word of caution I would give is to be careful when considering a high-gloss black powder.
The glossy coating will show wear (become un-glossy) over time due to proximity to the road/dirt/brake dust/etc. Most GOOD powder coaters will discourage using that finish on wheels. A semi-gloss or satin finish will maintain appearance over the long term.
This, of course, is based on amount miles ridden and weather conditions in your area.

Leave the first guy alone. go with someone you know, I've had 2 frames powdercoated by the same dude. Went with the high gloss. Jumpman is right, it can chip after some wear, which mine get plenty of, so I'd go satin black next time. Don't recall what I paid, reasonable, and I picked up and delivered cause he was local.
