Default Cam Upgrade for 96TC w/ Stage I: Andrews 48H or Wood TW-222?

My Ride: 2011 FLHX with de-catted head pipe and stage 1 upgrade.

My Payload: Solo/2-Up (saddlebags only, thus far). I'm 220 lbs.

My Venue: Highways/interstates/rural, varying from flat to hilly terrain.

My Style: Easy Rider (not hard on the bike and like to enjoy the ride).

I am considering a simple cam swap as my final performance upgrade. My goal is to have that little extra for the "2-up, hilly terrain" and those unplanned "have it when I need it" scenarios.

Which cam option offers the better solution for me?

Thanks for your help and insights, guys.

What is your plan for a tuner? I see you already are dealing with Fuel Moto, if I were in your shoes I would get a Power Vision with a pre loaded map and TW222 cam kit from FM.
Chances are you would not need a dyno tune. But if you wanted to dyno of course you could do that also.

I really like my 48's. Great cam for a 96 with lots of low end torque. Great power from just off idle to red line.

The Woods 222 has very similar specs. You wouldn't go wrong with either.

Leaning toward the Power Vision.

Comparing the two cams, the performance numbers are a blip higher on the Woods TW-222's, as is the price, at a fraction more than a C-note.

My logic is, that if you go with a power vision and TW222's the map you get from FM will be very close. If you go with the 48's I don't know where you would get as good of a match on the map.

The base map Fuel Moto sent me for the 48's worked very well. No issues.

Hey, senna, check out nhrider1's experience! Plus, if Fuel Moto's canned tune doesn't work out for me, I can always use Power Vision's Auto Tune function to create my own custom tune, then tweak from there.

My experience is with the Tw222 and a canned map from FM. It ran very well and when I had it dynoed the improvement was minimal. If you can get a map as close for the 48's then maybe the savings is worth it.
