Default Is it worth doing a Stage 1 to a 14 FLHTK?

I did a Stage 1 on my 06 RKC and immediately noticed a difference. Then again it was an 88ci and any added umph was good. The 14 FLHTK has plenty of umph and torque, but I'm wondering if adding Stage 1 will be overkill, metza metza or outstanding when it comes to performance on these bikes?

I killed the CAT replaced the air filter and had it tuned at Seacoast Harley. Picked up 22% more HP and 10% more TQ. My FLHTK is a 2013 so you will most likely see even better results. They have days where they do base line dyno runs for free. Maybe you could speak with them and get that done first.

stage 1 should have the same relative impact - i noticed my 2012 ran cooler and got better gas mileage. it is probably faster too but I rarely wound it out while stock or after.

I did it on my FLHXS, love the way it runs now. No dyno, just using the fuel moto map with the PV2, jackpot headers, jackpot 4" slash up slip ons, and the stage 1 air cleaner.

My right leg is cooler when riding slow or stopped, and the bike seems to rev quicker while accelerating. Feels and sounds very different than when bone stock. Worth it to me.

I'd love to see replies on this thread ONLY from 2014 model owners.

the 2014 has an improved higher flow intake, and I'd like to know what results guys are having with the stock unit.
( for those reason results from other year models do not apply)

or to see some flow numbers

some of the 2014 models also have changes to the cams as well, which could be a major difference stock out of the box compared to other year 103, 110, 96, 95,88, 80, 74 and 61 inch bikes

I would go 1 further & race tune it--makes a big difference. And, even if it didn't, I would still do it 'cause I feel like I am giving the gummint THE FINGER everytime I do it.

Had the Stage 1 on my 2014 Limited done. V&H Power Duals with RC Slip Ons and SE AC and SERT. It made a great running stock bike even better. About 85 HP and 100 TRQ really responds well. Even with the water cooling that oven in the pipe had to go. I'm glad I did this just got back from riding to Daytona Bike Week about 2000 miles for the week and it performed great. I also love the new cam in the 2014's. It's got a great sound with the new exhaust. IMO

Hard to believe that you only got 85hp and that's after a stage one and tune. You would think Harley would have made more progress by now. Less than 80 stock HP on a fully loaded bagger is pitiful. They use the same 103 engine for all the big twins. This makes no sense. The baggers should at least have a stock 120 by now. Lucky they don't have any real competition.

I don't know for sure yet but in a few weeks I will. I'm going to do the se air filter, street cannons and SE tuner. I decided to leave the cat in place which may be against conventional wisdom.
I based the decision in part on this website and the results they obtained along with working with my local dealer who I've done business with a long time.
