Default Just installed 944'S and mono-tubes on FLTRX

I just installed progressive mono-tube cartridges in the front and 944's in the back of my Road Glide.I rode it about 20 miles in today's cold with the stock shocks in the rear and I felt a big improvement. When I got home I cleaned the garage a lil bit and installed the 944's. It is about 30 degrees here ,I went on a quick ride hit some of the destroyed roads from the rough winter and was not to pleased with the harshness of the ride..? There did not seem to be any binding When I put them on. They are not the HD's and I weigh 215-220 lbs. Do they need a good break in or what? Right now the the stockers worked better. I have no pre-load on the spring and my buddy behind me said it was bouncing all over.Any experience with these shocks appreciated.

There are video's on Youtube and at the PS web site showing how to adjust pre-load.
IMPORTANT.
You can ask a tech at PS if you still have questions.

The preload is set to full loose as the shocks come from progressive. Progressive suggests 2" of sag and I only have 1 1/4" of sag at full loose with me on the bike. I will check the video out now though. Thanks

When I first put mine on I took it for a ride with no preload and it was bottoming out and I am only 190#. I'm running them at 1 1/2 turns of preload now. I will admit I need to put more time into dialing them in. But way better than stock as is.

I thought the instructions said 2" but according to progressive's video it is 1/3 of the travel which equals 1". I have 1 1/4" of sag so I will try it after I put some pre-load in it. If that doesn't work I will re-check it for binding and go for another ride.

Once you get the rear shocks set you'll be happy. Wait till you go around a corner and hit a cattle guard. The bike will be stable and not bounce you out of a corner. I did the front with progressive mono tubes and left the rear stock, but did the oil change, couldn't be happier.

Today I loosened the 944's and checked for binding, went for a ride and no difference still very stiff. I put the stockers back on and put 18 lbs of air in them.I rode it and checked the stock sag settings.Seems like they are very close to the sag setting I took them back off and put the progressives back on and went out riding. Called progressive told them what was going on and they said i should have between 11.25" and 11.50" eye to eye with me on the bike. I have about an 1/8 more then that so not too far off. Progressive said they will check them out if I need. One of the adjusters feels gritty when you turn it I I guess I will ride it for a while and see if anything changes if not Progressive stands behind they're products. Any one else have problems with sag and spring rate?

How were the mono tubes? Pulled mine off the lift last night and couldn't test ride it but held the front brake and rocked hard on it. Very little, if any travel between the upper and lower fork tubes. I have the 1 inch lowering mono tubes with the 3 pre load spacers. Is all that normal?
