Does anyone know if there is a way to check the voltage regulator without taking it in? I hate leaving my bike with them!

affected P&A chrome regulators (p/n 74622-06) installed on certain CVO models. Certain models built beween 8 Nov 05 through 28 Mar 06. The black affected regulator is stamped on the back/or engine side of the regulator and is 74505-06. The chrome is stamped on the left/inside of the mount post. This recall can also will cover over the counter regulators.

 

I receivedmy recall noticeyesterday and I just checkedmy voltage regulatorand of course I have #74505-06 which is one of the affected ones.

 

If you want it fixed you will have to bring it in. They will not give you a new one unless they do the work. I had the same issue with the front fork lock last year. I didn't want to bring it in either.

 

i called my dealer a couple hours ago, gave him my vin # and my bike is not affected. i bought it in july 06.

 

We just got 20 of the darn things at the dealer where I work....I had to put them all away I'm sure I'll be picking them starting next week if the notices went are out[8D]

 

I cannot see the part number without removing the Oil Filter or loosing the Regulator and rotating it down.
I'll call the dealer instead.
