Default Show Me Your Mustang Rider Backrest!

I'm considering the addition of a Mustang Rider Backrest (79610) to my H-D Sundowner (Street Glide Stitching). To that end, I'd like to see your photos of the Mustang Rider Backrest on a 2-up H-D seat. Front AND Back shots would be appreciated, along with your own feedback on this setup.

Thanks, guys.

Here's my Mustang set up. Unfortunately it's the Mustang Super Wide Touring seat and not the HD. Nevertheless you should get the drift. I like it better the the big and bulky HD one.

Look at my sig pic.....with my fracked up back, there's no way for me to ride without one.

Yeah, I see what you mean. By comparison, I agree that the H-D version is "big and bulky". The Mustang has a very slim profile and I like the way it folds down.

My passenger backrest looks very much like yours. When you look at the bike, the two backrests look good together, like a matched pair. I like that.

Is the backrest able to be removed easily? Does the remaining mounting bracket get in the way at all?

Yes, the backrest pulls out easily. The HD backrest on my wife's ride in a pain in the butt to put in and out. I hate it. That's why I bought a Mustang for my bike. The mounting bracket is under the seat and you won't know it's there without the backrest in place.

I've had both the Mustang and the Harley one. I have the Mustang on my Limited now. The Harley one was hard to fold down, a real PITA to put in and particularly to pull out. I don't keep it on all the time. IMHO the Mustang one is MUCH better. I also use a mustang seat.

I have a Sundowner seat. From what I've seen of the Mustang mounting bracket, it installs on the downward angle of the fender. My concern is that the bracket won't follow the angle of the slit in the seat, forcing the slit to be open - hence, ugly! Is this true?

It does fit on the downward angle of rear fender, but does not cause any wide slit in the seat. In fact you might have to spread it a bit to slide the backrest down into the bracket. I have a sundowner seat on my bike. Was thinking of changing to something else that would use my Mustang backrest, as I do like it. Removes and installs in an instant, and adjusts forward or backwards with a thumb screw.

Not sure I follow...

The Sundowner has a slit for a backrest. Why won't the Mustang backrest work?
