Well I've only been riffing three years no and no cop ever asked me for a tap test. But I suppose safety is best. I always thought if the sunglasses were made of polycarbonate that was ok. I don't think I ever saw a sticker on one. Maybe a sticker when new. Do you say it mentions it on the lens?

Yes. Most sunglasses which are not polycarb will usually have some sticker for the UV rating, like 1-4 or 100-400? BUT, if polycarb, would almost certainly say so with a sticker or etching, esp. as it's a selling point $$$.

You can bring existing glasses into an eyewear shop and any technician can quickly tell you for sure if plastic or polycarb. There is a spooky video on Oakley site (maybe Wiley X) showing how a plastic lens shatters on a rock impact, where the polycarb sort of flexes and trampolines with no shatter.

Best of luck. Ride safe. :-)

I wear Oakley Juliets. Sadly I don't think they make them anymore.

I have been tempted by the Wiley X for awhile.

I wear the Oakley Wind Jackets. They are very comfortable even with the gasket, and they are very easy to convert to regular sunglasses that still look good. Hard to beat the wide selection of lens possibilities as well.

Had my glasses **** to bed on me in Sturgis last year stopped at the big Dealer off the interstate in Rapid City and picked up a pair of the williex Brick style. There one of the first pair to really fit my face well. come with tons of cleaning cloths 4-5 straps to keep then on plus a bombproof hard case hell they even stay clear in night riding or inside then darken outside. I wear them everyday and the have killer customer support as far as replacing anything broken even outside the warranty time frame. Best $144 I spent at the rally.
