On an unrelated note, what seat is that?
Sorry for the hijack....

I think a lot depends on your height. I went with 12" Yaffe's (from Eastern Performance as well, highly recommended) and they are perfect height for me, just below my shoulders, but I'm only 5'9". However, keep in mind also that Yaffe bars tend to be taller than others, the 12" seem to be comparable to 14" from others as I understand. BTW, the fairing mirrors work fine for me, but again someone taller might have a different angle to look at them and not work as well.

Like others have said- it depends on your height and personal tastes.
I have 13" Cyclesmiths & love them. Great bend, natural hand positioning, very comfortable. The stock bars used to kill my back & shoulders.
I can see out of my fairing mirrors pretty good. I drilled addn'l mounting holes in my fairing to lower my mirrors about a 1/2" & that gave me addn'l viewing capability with them. I'm used to looking under my arms for the mirrors- having come off a 48 Sporty prior to getting my SG. I find it preferable myself. I don't care for the mirrors above the fairing look.
But I will be going with some 16" Yaffe bars in the near future.
I would go with the 14"- I doubt you will regret it. It will provide better mirror view if your planning to keep them in the fairing.
I don't know of many that say they should have gotten smaller apes, but there are many of us who regret not getting taller ones on the first try.

I beg to differ. Of course the height and wrist angle of the bars plays a big part in it, but I can see out of my Fairing mirrors just as easily as any that are mounted on the handlebars.

Go with 12s or 14s, I went with 10" KST Mayhems mainly because I liked the look of the bends, the price was very reasonable, and I didn't want my hands above the fairing. I added an extended clutch cable, and I extended the wires +6. at that point I could have gone with 12s or 14s since I was already extending clutch and wires anyway, I could have extended any length, but again, I wanted my hands below the fairing.
With the 10s I cant see jack #$!%@ from the fairing mirrors which I kind of expected, but I thought I could work around it by adjusting the bars forward or back some, but it aint happening. And, the bars are a little wide at 37.5, and they are only 1.25" in diameter. I feel like I would have better off going with a 1.5" diameter bar, something like the Vindikta bars which are only 35" wide and in a 12' rise. I'm going to ride with these Mayhems for a while and see if I get used to mirrors and the wide grip, but I may switch to 12" Vindikta bars at some point. Definitely not looking forward to cutting and pulling wires again, and soldering everything.
