Tryin to make a decision, I'm lookin at goin from a RDKS to a RDG.

RDK seat was a piece of $hlt and I ended up spending (MORE[:@]) money for a Sundownder (BiG Diff!!)

Was wondering how that RDG seat is? Is every stock seat harley makes terrible or especially so on the RDK? OR,,, have any of you RDG folks tried meancitycycles to fix the stocker?

Heck I took my RG seat off and put a RK seat onmine.

I STILL have my OEM seat on the RG. I've changed all the rest of my Harley OEM seats....and the RK was the WORST. The stock seat on the FLTRI is comfortable for me, with or without the backrest. Try it for yourself!

 

I rented a RG and did 1800 miles in a weekon the stock seat. I actually was very comfortable. Spend your extra cash on the back rest and you should be all set.

 

I went aftermarket and purchased a Mustang, great support and comfortability
There are a alot of members that have gone to meancitycycles to have their OEM seat alltered and are happy my understanding is they will do to the seat what ever you want done

Yea I'm thinkin that the RK seat for whatever reason gets the Harley "Crap" award.

Heck a couple of yrs ago I rented a Fatboy, while down at the Outer Banks. One a.m. before sunrise the wifey and I took off,and we rode all day. We got back well after dark. She hops off and says " I could ride across country on that bike" I'm thinkin well then,,,when I get the RDK she'll REALLY be comfy. 15 miles into the first ride she's b&%&^n about the RDK seat. To this day, she still thinks the Fatboy seat is more comfy than what we have now.

I've been reading about MCC seats and think that may be the route to go. I would rather spend the $$$ on other stuff.
Glad to hear some like the stock seat... Never heard that about a RDK seat.

 

I have 20k miles on my stock FLTRI seat best factory seat I have ever had and would not change it.

 

Another vote for the stock seat. Use it whenever I ride solo on my 07 Road Glide. Bought the Tallboy for 2 up riding and it's not nearly as comfortable for me IMO.

I had no complaints with the stock seat on my '06 Road Glide and and at this point I'm not considering replacing the stock seat when my '07 comes in.
