I had to put poly's in when I put my apes on because they moved around too much with the stock bushings. When I put my beach bars back on, I just left the poly's in. I don't really feel a vibration difference from stock to poly.

 

Def go with the poly....all that shaking is bound to stress a soldered wire joint and you dont want that.

 

I have a 10" ape project to do. I got polys when i was debating higher apes. I heard you definitely needed them 12" and higher. Lower, they might pass too much of the vibe into the handlebars. We'll see. I'm going from beach bars to 10" apes. And since I have them, I'm going to replace the bushings with the poly while I'm in there anyway. And shoot, I ride a RK so there isn't much vibe to worry about!

I installed 12" wild ones last winter and just ordered some poly bushings. I should have done it the first time around.

I did the same swap on my 05 RK Custom.

I put the SE bushings in when I did my Yaffe 12's. Everything worked out great. I'd do it again. No vibration through the bars, no wiggly bars, everything is just right.

The SE bushings looked to be about the same as the Alloy Art bushing kit. Good stuff.
