Default Mostly Free and Easy Horn Relo 2009 Glide

I wanted to get rid of the horn and not just cut it off but I'm too cheap to buy another horn. Removed it all from the motor and put it behind the left side cover. Very little work. Had to cut one plastic tab behind the cover so the horn would sit in there. Cut the wires, ran new ones up under the tank and under the front of the seat. Bam. Horn gone. Zero cost. Had all the stuff in the garage. Even if you have to buy a little tubing and some wire we're talking 5 bucks... This is probably on these forums somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Frank, removing the tank takes almost no time, the fuel line is a quick connect.
If the bike has been sitting over night, they will be no pressure in the line, so you will get maybe 1 drop of gas

pick a nice soft place to set it down, an emptier tank weighs less, so that makes easier.

don't let the prospect of removing the tank keep you from doing something good for your bike

OP, looks great- hope the dB's are able to project past that cover.
Horns usually need to have a mount with some flex to it- a solid mount seems to not works as well....i wonder how that works

I have a couple of radio shack piezos in that location ( at present) food for thought

I like the cleaner look a lot. How does the horn sound? I live on the edge of town and sometimes need a loud horn to wake the texting zombies.

looks good. I, too, was wondering how it affected the sound of the horn.

Nice idea, but I'd bet it sounds like a wet duck now.

I have an accent light module thats sitting where your horn is now, or I'd think about it.
