Black and Black/yellow? Maybe 14 gauge? Doesn't really matter, it's only carrying 12v and minute amps when sounding horn. I just chopped them off and used some wire I had. I actually always save pigtails off of stuff that quits working. So for this I used an old 110V jigsaw cord plug in. Cut it to length, soldered both ends in, added two flat connectors, soldered those, wrapped all and hid away. The jigsaw cord was nice and flexible, similar stranded guage and has that nice black rubber tough sheathing.

Definitely a mod I need to do. Glad to hear it doesn't muffle the sound. Had to use it today when a cager decided to change lanes onto me while I was cruising. It's not like my bike isn't loud or anything. Sheesh! Was gonna buy a new horn cover. This changes things quite a bit!

I did this the other day while i had my tank off.
Did anyone cut off the horn mount section of that bracket and re-mount it for strength? The bolts that hold it on the motor seem pretty heavy duty to just hold the horn. I think i'm going to grind off that piece, rattle can it, then re-mount it.

This is also a good location for a second horn - the hi/lo combination will be much more attention getting - it will sound like a car
