For all the guys asking about sound. I tested it out yesterday on the freeway here in Dallas and got a cager's attention. I don't think it's quieter. It doesn't seem to be muffled at all.

If the bike has been sitting over night, they will be no pressure in the line, so you will get maybe 1 drop of gas

pick a nice soft place to set it down, an emptier tank weighs less, so that makes easier.

don't let the prospect of removing the tank keep you from doing something good for your bike

OP, looks great- hope the dB's are able to project past that cover.
Horns usually need to have a mount with some flex to it- a solid mount seems to not works as well....i wonder how that works

I have a couple of radio shack piezos in that location ( at present) food for thought

Didn't have to remove tank. The place I mounted it is a plastic piece with a little flex to it. I guess if it stops working I can pull it apart and put a rubber grommet between the plastic and horn stud, too...

I love those cheap/free/easy mods !!

It does look nice and clean too.
Kind of strange too !
I am so used to seeing the old Cowbell hanging there it would take bit to get used to !

there was a thread over in the Dyna section about "freeing the JUGS". i did it with my old street bob and i really liked the look after the mod. i installed the horn on the front of the frame, hidden away. i have been contemplating doing the same with the Classic as well.

Do you remember what color & what gauge the wires were?

if you're referring to the horn relocation.... the plug on the horn should have just 2 wires. on my old street bob I just made a pig tail harnes to extend up to where i located the horn.

I think i used 14ga wire (maybe 16ga) for the pig tail on my bob. made it about 12" worth. tucked the original harness back up under the tank and hid the pig tail to where you could barely see it.

it should be similar on the touring. i'm sure i'll find out here shortly! i put that on my need to do list!
