55K isn't a ton of miles. I will have 100k on mine soon. If it wasn't for the Navy I would've hit it a long time ago. Look around though. There are lots of bikes with half that mileage.

 

2011BDSG103 makes good sense in what he says...I agree with him. I prefer purchasing from a private party, and I also prefer to go to his house to see how he lives and suss out whether he's an irresponsible Ricky Racer, or whether he tends to take good care of his stuff. If his house is in general disrepair, the grass is knee high to a Brahma, and generally the dude is white trash, you can bet your bottom dollar that the scooter is also trash. Also, if his man cave/garage is full of 'go-fast' posters, well, throw that in the mix too...
