The quick release takes about 1 minute to remove and 2 to put on. Takes a little longer to put on because you have to line up the mounts.

As far as the antenna goes, HD makes a relocation kit for about 99.00. Or, you can get a powered, hidden antenna and put it under the fairing. This is what most do, as it gives a very clean instillation. Reception is not quite as good as with the whip, but it is adaquate.

Dakota digital makes one, TuneTrapper makes one, and there are numerous others. You should be able to find one at most automotive audio dtores. Boat places also have them.

Regards,

Bill

Thanks for the replies, I used this antenna http://www.ecshylites.citymax.com/catalog/item/604191/721930.htm

Seems to work great...easy to install and cheap I read a post here on hidden antennas that the powered antennas were really a waste of money, don't know for sure but I do know this one works great for me

When you are installing the docking kit, have the detachable mount in hand, not mounted to the tour pac yet,so you can align the docking attach points. This way when you attach the tour pac,it will snap into place easily. You can shim these docking mounts in or out by using flat washers if needed.

This is exactly how I did mine

ORIGINAL: jward2331

I put the detachable on my wife's 07 Classic two weeks ago. I just went to the garage to see how I did it. They go under the bar so the nuts have a flat surface to secure against. In other words, the pizza box goes directly on the bar, the aluminum "thingies" as you called them, go on the bottom. Hope this clarifies it for you.
