Just wondering how many riders are trying to use their J&M headsets with the new Harley (06-07) Kardon radio and having problems with the CB and intercom. I have had my bike to dealer twice for noise when transmitting on the CB and problems with the intercom cutting out. I used my J&M headsets on my 95 Ultra and GoldWings and they worked fine. I purchased the J&M lower cords with the 7 pin configuration as required for the 06 Ultra. Radio, music is fine and if I use only the rider headset, the CB works properly. Add the passenger headset and the CB receives, but only transmitts noise and the intercom doesn't work properly. Sent headsets and cords to J&M, everything checked out okay. Both visits to dealer resulted in the radio system is working properly.
What's your experience? I have the J&M 174 headsets. I think something in the impedence or sensitivity has changed. Anyone solved this problem?

 

Can't say which one i have, have to double check, But it's the one that comes in the KBC TourComm. Have no issues what so ever. Wife and I have used the intercom and the CB and the only part I have a problem, is her HD headset breaks the vox with the wind that buffets behind her shield. Only happens above 75 tho.

 

When did you buy your headset? The KBC line is fairly new to J&M, so you probably have a newer headset than my 174s. it may be my 3-4 year old set doesn't work with the Kardon.
